Silicone vs. Gel Breast Implants |
Like every sphere of life, plastic surgery as a whole and breast
implants surgery in particular, aren't standing still. Breast surgery
evolves from one year to another. Absolutely new ways of operations
emerge,
innovative technologies appear, scientists invent new improved fillers
for breast implants. Gel breast implants are among them.
So which is better? A time-tested quality or innovative technology? A
familiar name or a new better one? Silicone or gel breast implants?
Silicone liquid breast implants are a common known companion of breast
surgery. They were invented in 1962 and since then they have
undergone some
major changes. Liquid silicone also has raised a lot of contraversial
issues. It was said that silicone implants have been causing health
problems including cancer. That is one of the reasons why in 1992 in
the USA silicone was prohibited in plastic surgery. Years
after it was permitted for breast surgery usage again. Nowadays liquid
silicone gives its place to a better and newer one - gel silicone.
Breast implants cost vary in a vide range. The implants with the
fillers of new generation are more expensive than the old ones. Huge
breast implants differ in price from the small ones. Besides,
operations in
breast augmentation are more expensive than breast reduction surgery.
As for the decision between silicone or gel implants, it is
only
for
you to decide. Liquid silicone is time-proven while gel silicone was
developed taking into consideration past mistakes. It is "healthier"
and preservs its original shape. So this round is won by new
technologies, isn't it? |
